الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، والصّلَاةُ والسَّلامُ علی رَسُولِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلی آلهِ وصَحْبِهِ اَجْمَعِین

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم &nbsp;

The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah hold great significance in Islam, being among the most blessed days of the year. These days are marked by acts of worship, remembrance, and good deeds.&nbsp;

We find the mention of these 10 days in the Noble Quran. Allah (عزوجل) stated in the noble quran:&nbsp;

وَالْفَجْرِ ‎﴿١﴾‏ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ ‎﴿٢﴾ By oath of the (particular) dawn. (1) And by oath of ten nights. (2) (سورة الفجر)

This is an oath by Allah, and verily Allah swears by whatever he wishes, as he is the&nbsp; ultimate creator, sustainer and the ultimate possessor of power over everything. He does not swear by anything except that there is goodness (خیر), and blessings (برکة) in it.&nbsp;

Thus, this signifies the great importance of the&nbsp; (وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ), the 10 first nights of Dhul Hijjah, of which Allah swore an oath by. And the majority of the scholars of Tafsir agree from as-salaf like Ibn A'bbas, agree that where Allah mentioned&nbsp; (وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ) - then the meaning of these nights are the 10 first nights of the month of Dhul-Hijjah.

قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَمُجَاهِدٌ وَمَسْرُوقٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ: هِيَ ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ وَعَشْرٌ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ. &nbsp;Ibn Abbas, Mujahid and Masrooq (May Allah be pleased with them) said they are the days of Dhul Qa'da and the 10 initial days of Dhul Hijjah (تفسير القرطبي — القرطبي (٦٧١ هـ))

Similarly from the virtues of these 10 days, we find that these are the days which Allah promised solitude for the prophet Mosa علیه السلام as is stated in the Noble Quran:

۞ وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَاثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً And We agreed with Moosa a covenant for thirty nights (of solitude) and completed it by adding ten to them, so the covenant of His Lord amounted to forty nights in full (سورة الاعراف)

These days were designated for Prophet Mosa&nbsp;علیه السلام to spend time in solitude, fasting and worship of Allah as in mentioned in Tafseer Qurtubi:

أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَصُومَ الشَّهْرَ وَيَنْفَرِدَ فِيهِ بِالْعِبَادَةِ He commanded him to fast the month and devote himself to worship alone during it. (تفسير القرطبي — القرطبي (٦٧١ هـ))

We see from these verses that the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are revered, and times of worship and remembrance of Allah. In these days the performance of Hajj takes place, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, culminating on the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha. It is a time for increased acts of dhikr (remembrance of Allah), such as Takbeer (Allahu Akbar), Tahmeed (Alhamdulillah), and Tahleel (La ilaha illallah), and charitable actions.

Simliarly, we learn from the blessed hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are amongs the best days for worship. The beloved prophet said in a hadith:

ما من عملٍ أزكى عند اللهِ ولا أعظمَ أجرًا من خيرٍ يعملُه في عَشرِ الأَضحى. قيل: ولا الجهادُ في سبيلِ اللهِ؟ قال: ولا الجهادُ في سبيلِ اللهِ، إلا رجلٌ خرج بنفسِه وماله فلم يرجِعْ من ذلك بشيءٍ. "There is no deed more virtuous before God, nor greater in reward, than good done during the ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah." It was asked, "Not even jihad in the way of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihad in the way of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and wealth and returns with nothing of that." (الدارمي (١٧٧٤) عن&nbsp;عبدالله بن عباس)

There are numerous ahadith with different wordings from the Prophet ﷺ which emphasise that there are no deeds more virtous before Allah, than good deeds which are performed during the ten days of Dhul Hijjah.

However, the meaning is not that Nawafil and Sunan are increased in virtue and reward above that of obligatory prayers. Obligatory prayers such as praying 5 times are always higher in importance and reward than any&nbsp;supererogatory prayers such as Adhkaar (supplications) or the praying of&nbsp;supererogatory prayers. Thus one should always strive to complete his/her obligatory daily prayers before striving towards anythings more.&nbsp;

We see from these verses and ahadith that good deeds become more virtuous and beloved by Allah in these 10 designated days of Dhul Hijjah, which culminate with Hajj, and Eid al Adha for the muslims. They are the finalization and culmination of the known months of Hajj - the month of Shawwal, Dhul Qa'da and the 10 days of Dhul Hijjah -&nbsp; for which Allah has stated in the Quran:

الْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌ مَّعْلُومَاتٌ The Hajj is during the well-known months; (سورة البقرة ۱۹۷)

These are days in which the blessed companions of the prophet&nbsp;ﷺ used to go out to the marketplaces, chanting (الله اکبر! اللہ اکبر! ) the people of the marketplaces would join them in the collective remembrance of their lord.

کان ابنُ عمرَ وأبو ھریرةَ یَخرُجانِ إلی السُّوق في ایام العشرِ یكبرانِ ويکبرُ الناسُ لتکبیرھما Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah used to go out to the market during the (first) ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) and recite Takbeer (saying "Allahu Akbar"), and the people would also recite Takbeer due to their recitation.

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters in Islam, seek Allah and His forgiveness during these blessed days. Increase your obedience to Him by performing good deeds, spending in the way of Allah, and re-establishing good relations with your relatives and fellow Muslims. Spend these days wisely, (التی مضی شطرھا) as half of them have already passed. Make the most of this precious time before it slips away without us having gained any benefit. May we reap the rewards of these days in this temporary abode and in the Hereafter.

Virtues of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah

Today marks a turning point for Israel, which previously was supposed as the only democracy in the region with shared values and judeo-chistian traditions. However, recent events have exposed it as a ruthless, murderous, non-democratic, fascist system. This is particularly evident in the heavy bombardment of Palestinians living in Gaza these past weeks, the most heavily populated area in the world with 40% of the population in Gaza being children under the age of 15 [1].

This area is often referred to as "The biggest open-air prison in the world". For decades have this small area been under siege, surrounded by Israeli occupation and colonial forces continuously putting the Palestinians on a so-called “diet”. With limited resources such as water, electricity, with nowhere to leave and under constant oppression and bombardment from the Israeli IDF and militant forces. So much that 1.3 million out of the 2.1 million population (60%) have required food assistance [2].

Thus, it has become very clear that Israel is but a colonial outpost, heavily armed, yet entirely dependant on the USA and other western countries, lacking of any moral or legal limits that could possibly contain their violations and unjustified behaviour. Knowing well and good that it’s a crime against international law, a crime against humanity, and genocide to withhold water, food, fuel, electricity and medicine from people in captivity. All the while raining over 6000 air-strikes in the span of a week, killing nearly 3000 civilians [3].

This also marks a turning point for Palestinians, who have endured decades of oppression since the Nakba. It is clear that they can no longer rely on international law, acting nice, pleasing the west, and implementing agreements in the hope of achieving freedom and an end to the occupation that has been ongoing since 1948. The Nakba has resulted in the displacement of over 6 million Palestinians as refugees around the world, according to the latest UN statistics [4]. Additionally, over 70% of the people living in Gaza are themselves refugees since the days of the Nakba.

As a result of long-standing oppression, Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7th, 2023, in an airstrike named "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood." This attack was a response to the growing oppression in the region of Al-Aqsa and the desecration of a holy Islamic site. The attack on Israel by Hamas was met with widespread condemnation and unprecedented support for the Israeli nation. Never before had so many Western countries united to defend Israel and condemn Hamas and any pro-Palestinian ideologies.

What followed was a stream of manufactured facts, false and fabricated evidence, and pictures which no journalist to this day has been able to confirm. Allegations of beheaded babies and raped women that were only received from secondary sources, to the point that whenever journalists were asked about any eyewitness or personal encounters, they simply stated that they had been fed this information from the military personnel or pro-Israeli spokespersons. There was a complete lack of responsible reporting and journalism, which laid the groundwork for Israel to show themselves as oppressed to the world, and to launch an unprecedented attack on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of thousands of civilians. Meanwhile, the western media chanted the phrase "Israel has the right to defend themselves" and condemned any pro-Palestinian protests around the globe. Governments even banned carrying the Palestinian flags, and widespread propaganda was spread to justify the ruthless killing of civilians in the most heavily populated area in the world.

Still, pro-palestinian spokespersons around the globe acted impartially and fairly in quickly condemning any sort of violations that might have occurred by the Hamas attack. A condemnation request of which the western media was more than happy to parrot away for weeks without themselves even the decency enough to apply their moral codes to the very body they are trying to defend.

Thus, we ask the question, what justifies Israel ruthlessly carrying out 6000 airstrikes in a week without any due diligence, openly targeting hospitals, emergency personnel, and journalists? Dropping white phosphorus on civilians, cutting off the supply of water, electricity, internet, medicine, and food? How are their atrocities so easily overlooked?

Is it only a war crime if militants carry out acts of violence on the ground but not if it is Israel pushing the buttons and launching large-scale bombing and shelling from the air? Is it not state terrorism when the highest officials in Israel say that they intend to flatten the whole area? Is it not state terrorism when Israeli officials say that they are fighting animals and they will be treated as such by cutting off all forms of resources from them? These are not just full-scale massacres in the eyes of the world, but they also have the full support of western nations. There is no understanding in subjecting people under siege, traumatized for years, who have broken away from military guidelines and caused hearsay violations, to suddenly deserve this large-scale death and destruction raining upon them!

Yet, the western media is providing little valuable media coverage of the siege and constant bombardment happening in Gaza. Instead, for weeks on end while people are being massacred, they are in a goalless pursuit of trying to gather certificates of condemnation for Hamas. These are people who have resisted Israeli oppression, trauma, and captivity for decades. Unfortunately, the western media is not fulfilling the role of a neutral body that reports justly on both sides without spreading hearsay, unverifiable facts, and biased information. Instead, they are fuelling further hatred towards the Palestinian people, who are the subject of genocide.

What was there to expect, other than retalliation?

Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and other organisations have described the situation in Palestine as apartheid. Israeli human rights organisations have also labeled it as apartheid. If this situation continues for years, it is inevitable that people will reach a breaking point. It is unjustifiable for a self-proclaimed moral state to behave in such a manner while oppressing people for years. It is unreasonable to expect Palestine to passively accept this treatment, to expect them to simply lie down and accept it.

Furthermore, it is stated in UN resolutions that Palestinians have the right to defend themselves, including through armed struggle [5], against oppression from an apartheid colonial state. The term "apartheid" is used to describe Israel's practice of racially segregating Palestinians, treating them as second-class citizens without any power, self-determination, or access to basic necessities such as food and water. Therefore, according to the UN resolution, Palestinians have the right to engage in armed struggle, similar to the actions taken by Algerians against French colonisation, or by Indians, Egyptians, and others.

All the while, the Western media attempts to present itself as morally superior, suggesting that Palestinians should passively accept oppression. However, when Palestinians exercise their right to fight for freedom, just as every colonised state has done in the past, they are unjustly labeled as terrorists.

The idea that Israel is defending itself is just as illogical as saying that a rapist is defending himself from the victim. How can it be logically possible that the occupier is defending himself from the people they are seizing? According to international law, the occupier is already in an offensive position, so any form of retaliation by the offended is justified if the goal is to remove oppression by the offender.

The analogy is that if a person took you by your shoulders in your own house and threw you into the bathroom, you’re kicking, screaming trying to get out while the offender is making himself at home. One day you manage to get out and you retaliate against them and fight them, are you suddenly the oppressor?

In conclusion, the recent retaliation by the Palestinians should not be seen as surprising. It was not only eminent and justified, but even so much as sanctioned by the UN itself. It is essential, however, to critically examine the actions and behaviour of Western countries, as their recent conduct raises doubts about their so assumed “moral high ground”. The ongoing conflict in the region demands a fair and impartial approach that is rooted in justice and human rights.

In the midst of all this tragedy and shedding of muslim blood, If anything hurts more than seeing our muslim brothers, sisters and children being ruthlessly massacred by Israeli forces - is the fact that it seems that the muslim brotherhood is situated in a state where they're unable to do anything significant to help reduce this bloodshed. The Western lifestyle is structured in such a manner that it engrosses individuals in their personal affairs, often leaving little room for broader concerns. This system emphasizes the continuous pursuit of well-being, stability, and self-enhancement. Particularly for Muslims, achieving a respected position within this society can be a lifelong endeavor. Consequently, this deep investment creates an inherent apprehension about losing one's accomplishments, making it considerably challenging for individuals to advocate for principled stands. Add on top of this equation a continued prejudice towards anything that the Muslim stands for and we have no option but to be silenced or loose every ounce of respect and well-being from the society.

Consequently, world is turned against us, to the point where the killing of innocent lives is being justified under the banner of "defending ourselves from terrorists". Waving the flag of Palestine in solidarity with the people of palestine, in sorrow and remorse for the shedding of innocent blood is now seen as standing with so called terrorist movements. All the while an open genocide is ongoing in the largest open-air prison in the world. We are but able to stand up to evil with our words, with our pen, waiting for some miracle to occur so our brothers, sisters, daughters and sons may be saved from further oppression.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: يُوشِكُ الأُمَمُ أَنْ تَدَاعَى عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الأَكَلَةُ إِلَى قَصْعَتِهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏
 فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ وَمِنْ قِلَّةٍ نَحْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ ‏"‏ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ كَثِيرٌ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ غُثَاءٌ 
 كَغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ وَلَيَنْزِعَنَّ اللَّهُ مِنْ صُدُورِ عَدُوِّكُمُ الْمَهَابَةَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَيَقْذِفَنَّ اللَّهُ فِي 
قُلُوبِكُمُ الْوَهَنَ ‏ "‏ ‏‏ فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا الْوَهَنُ 
قَالَ ‏"‏ حُبُّ الدُّنْيَا وَكَرَاهِيَةُ الْمَوْتِ .

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people 
when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that 
be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will 
be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that 
carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the 
breasts of your enemy and last wahn ٰ(enervation) into your hearts. 
Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): 
He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death. &nbsp;

&nbsp;[سنن أبي داود، كتاب الملاحم، باب فِي تَدَاعِي الأُمَمِ عَلَى الإِسْلاَمِ، رقم الحدیث: ۴۲۹۷]

We are but engrossed in the particularities and obligations of this world, and even though we are vast in numbers, we are of no significance to the powers seeking our destruction. So much so that all western countries have banded against Muslims seeking their destruction. 

In addition to the overwhelming support from most Western nations, the USA has deployed two warships as a demonstration of strength near the area, from the inception of this event. Signifying a clear message to all muslim majority countries that any interference in the Israeli situation may be met with a robust response, fire, fury and hell.&nbsp;

In situations like these where we stand oppressed, silenced, and in the midst of a genocide, the muslim nation looks in desperatation towards the called "leaders of muslim nations". Who but stand in silence, spineless, fearful, without an ounce of self-worth to their name, unwilling to even so much as lift a finger in help of our own blood. Where is the retalliation?&nbsp;Where are the sanctions? 

Why don't the oil rich middle eastern countries place sanctions on the countries aiding in this genocide, why don't turks revolt and revoke their peace-treatise in support for the children and families of Gaza being torn apart in the ongoing wide-spread carpet bombings! Nay, they stand but in silence.

Yet when they see an opportunity to represent Islam they have the audacity to portray themselves as the flag bearers of true islam. Making it clear as day how&nbsp; heedless opportunistic they are, in nothing but a search for easy fame and power.

In these times of widespread confusion and corruption, stagnation of markets, enimosity towards us Muslims, and leaders unfit to even stand up for their people. We find ourselves in desperation, in search for an answer to our pleas: what do we do? how do we act?&nbsp;

Since the time of the beloved ﷺ , the contracts of people have continued to weaken and tribulations have continued to grow more intense for each passing day. And it is said that the matters will only continue to grow worse until the establishment of the final hour:

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: لا يزدادُ الأمرُ إلّا شدَّةً ولا يزدادُ النّاسُ إلّا شُحًّا ولا تقومُ السّاعةُ إلّا على شرارِ النّاسِ.

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:&nbsp;The matter will only grow more intense, the world will only increase in dissolution, people will only become greeider, the final hour will not be established except during the lives of the worst of people. &nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; Verily the best of guidence is also tied to the very religion, Islam, which has informed us about the tribulation of the End of times.&nbsp;

In another narration, we are instructed to break our sword at times of tribulations. Verily Islam is a religion which commands us to spread goodness and forbid evil at all times possible. To stop the spread of evil by hand if we hold the ability to do so, or by the tongue if not by the hand, or to at least acknowledge the evilness of said action in our hearts. Thus, we see from the upcoming traidition that surely what time is being depicted to come will be a time when no Naseeha  is accepted, when people act upon their whims and desires and when preaching the correct path holds no measurable effect.

“Once while we were sitting around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he began to mention strife, and said, ‘When you see people at that time, their contracts will be spoiled and their trusts will be worthless, and they will be like this’ - and he interlocked his fingers. I stood up before him and said ‘May Allah make me a sacrifice for you! What do you order me to do when that time comes?’ He ﷺ said

‘Remain in your home, take control of your tongue, take what you recognize from and refrain from what you do not recognize, tend to your personal affairs, and leave the affairs of the masses’”

"There will be strife, seperation and differing. When that time comes you must take your sword and smash it until it breaks and then you must sit inside your home until either a sinful hand or a pre-ordained death comes to you"

&nbsp; &nbsp; From these narrations, we can understand that times of strife and corruption are eminent, just as eminent as the coming of The final hour itself.

 In times like this, when see widespread corruption from every possible angle, we should do as much as is possible by us. If Allah has gifted us with money we should help that, if Allah has given us a voice we should utilize it for the sake of Allah. We should turn back to Allah, ask for forgiveness, and pray for the oppressed as much as possible

In challenging times, especially when confronted with pervasive corruption and injustice, it is imperative that we take proactive steps to make a difference. Every individual has been bestowed with unique gifts and capabilities by Allah, and it's our responsibility to utilize these blessings for the betterment of society and to uphold righteousness.

For those whom Allah has blessed with wealth, it is an opportunity to use those resources to support the needy, fund initiatives that combat corruption, or aid in the upliftment of the marginalized. Wealth, in this context, is not just a means for personal comfort, but a tool to drive positive change and reflect the benevolence of the Almighty.

Similarly, if Allah has granted us the ability to communicate and influence, we must raise our voices against injustice, advocate for the truth, and guide others towards the path of righteousness. Our voice can be a beacon of hope, a catalyst for change, and a testament to our commitment to the values we hold dear.

More importantly, during such times, it becomes even more crucial to strengthen our connection with Allah. By turning to Him, seeking His guidance, and asking for forgiveness, we not only find solace but also clarity in our purpose. Regular prayers and supplications not only for our well-being but especially for the oppressed and those suffering can have a profound impact. In our prayers, we should consistently remember those who are facing hardships, for the power of collective supplication can bring about miracles.

In summary, every gift and capability we possess is a trust from Allah. By harnessing these gifts in the face of corruption and adversity, we not only fulfill our responsibility but also exemplify the true essence of faith. In this journey, continuous reflection, turning to Allah, and standing by the oppressed are pivotal steps towards a more just and compassionate world.

"He is independent (from all creation) and not dependent upon anyone. Everything in the universe is dependent upon him the almighty."

"There is nothing like him, He is the most unique."

"And he is the one who has created everything and he is the one who is the owner of everything."

He is the owner of everyone’s life and death. He keeps something alive for as long as he wills and gives death whenever he wills. He is the one who gives life and death.

He sustains everyone. And he gives respect to whom he wills and gives humiliation to whom he wills.

There is no one in comparison to him.

However he does not communicates like his creation. He is free from having a tongue, having eyes, ears and other bodyparts and he is free from all defect. His self is comprised with every perfection.

All of his attributes have been forever and will be forever. No attribute can perish neither become less nor more.

He is merciful upon all of his creation. He is the who sustains his creation.

He is the one with greatness and with great honour.

Everything is within his possession and power. He lowers anyone whom he wills and raises anyone whom he wills.

He increases the sustainance for anyone he wills and decreases the sustainance for anyone he wills.

He is the one who accepts the supplications of his creation.

&nbsp; [پ۲۰،النمل:۶۲/پ۲،البقرۃ:۱۸۶]

He is the one with wisdom. No one can rule over him.

No one can stop him carrying out his will.

&nbsp; [پ۲۶،ق:۲۹]

He is the one who creates the means for everything. Everything that happens in the world is according to his command, nothing can move without his commandment. No can stop him from carrying out his commandment.

He is the one who protects the whole universe.

&nbsp; [پ۱۳،یوسف:۶۴/ پ۲۲،سبا:۲۱۸]

He neither sleeps nor becomes sleepy.

Their is nothing compulsory upon Allah the almighty. Whatever he does is from his mercy and bounty.

&nbsp; [، ص۱۵۴ المعتقد المنتقد مع المستند المعتمد ، یستحیل وجوب شی علیہ تعالٰی ، ص۷۱]

He is free from the similarity of his creation.

&nbsp; [شرح الفقہ الاکبر،ص۳۱]

He is indeed very merciful and benevolent. He does not command his creation to anything they cannot fulfill.

&nbsp; [پ۳،البقرۃ:۲۸۶]

He becomes angry upon the misdeeds of his creation. And he becomes happy upon the good deeds of his creation. That is why he has created the hellfire for his sinful creation and the paradise for his good creation.

Allah is free from direction,space, motion,stillness and he is free from shape. He is free from all of the attributes and feelings of his creation.

The only one who has been blessed with the ability to see Allah with his eyes in the worldly life is our honourable prophet Muhammad . However, many ambiya aleihimosalam and awliya aleihimurahma have been blessed with the sight of Allah the almighty through the heart and through dream. And during the judgement day, every sunni muslim will be able to see Allah with his eyes.However we should remember that the vision of Allah is without any “kefiyya”. What is meant with keifiyya is that we will be able to see Allah the almighty however at the moment we cant describe how we will see him, we will able to descibe it once we are blessed with the blessed sight of Allah. To discuss about the vision of Allah the almighty is not allowed. We need to believe that we indeed will be able to see Allah the almighty during the day of judgement which will be the biggest favour of Allah upon his creation.

There is unending wisdom in every act of Allah, wether we can acknowledge them or not.

&nbsp; [المسامرۃ بشرح المسایرۃ ، للہ تعالٰی فی کل فصل حکمۃ ، س۲۱۵]

It is an act of disbelief to believe that an act of Allah the almighty is evil, or to become angry upon an act of Allah the almighty, or to become sad upon Allah the almighty because of an act that he has carried out.

Behold! Never criticize any act of Allah the almighty, neither become sad but believe that whatever Allah does is always good even if we can understand it or not. Because Allah is the most knowledgable and the most wise, and he is very merciful upon his creation.
